RepeatsDirect is a UK online pharmacy service that helps patients in England save money on repeat prescription medications by providing private prescriptions for cheap generic drugs.
Our mission
The NHS prescription charge system creates a significant pricing anomaly. Patients in England pay a flat £9.90 per item, regardless of the actual drug cost. For many of the most commonly prescribed medications — statins, blood pressure tablets, antidepressants — the actual drug costs pharmacies less than £1 per month's supply.
Our mission is to help patients who pay prescription charges access the same high-quality generic medications via a private prescription route, at a price that better reflects the actual cost of the drug.
How we operate
RepeatsDirect employs a qualified pharmacist independent prescriber (PIP), registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Our PIP conducts short clinical reviews, confirms the appropriateness of each medication, and issues private prescriptions. Medications are dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy and posted directly to patients.
